Training "Document Classification and Systematization"

On October 28, 2026, the eLABa Consortium is planning a distance learning course “Document Classification and Systematization” for library specialists who are cataloging (creating metadata). The goal of the training is to provide theoretical knowledge in document classification and systematization, applying the Universal Decimal Classification (UDC) system, and ensuring effective information organization and search in libraries. Specialists from the Metadata Creation Division of the Information Resources Department of the National Library of Lithuania will conduct the training. The duration of the training is 4 academic hours.

The number of places in the training is limited (only 20 specialists); therefore, one specialist from each of the libraries that were most active in creating metadata in the first half of 2026 is invited to the training.

The training will be held in Lithuanian.
