The Network Nordic-Baltic childhood and culture in a global perspective is a cooperation between preschool teacher programs from 5 institutions in 5 countries - Abo Academy University from Finland, University of Latvia in Latvia, Kauno Kolegija/Higher Education Institution from Lithuania, Nord University from Norway and Mid Sweden University in Sweden. The Nordic network have been collaborating for more than 20 years and for the last 7 years two Baltic countries joined, making us a Nordic-Baltic network. This application aims to continue our collaboration working on exchanging and sharing experience about the future preschool teachers in the Nordic-Baltic countries. Personal and cultural diversity in today’s society requires extensive competences among preschool teachers of the 21st century, and therefore, it is important to promote awareness of personal and cultural diversity. Our network would like to share new ideas at promoting awareness of social sustainability and diversity through arts and developing competences in pre-school and pre-school teachers’ education. The overall goal and objectives of the network activities include: to strengthen Nordic-Baltic cultural understanding and cooperation in the area of preschool teacher education; to strengthen the understanding of social sustainability and diversity; to use playful and creative teaching methods for supporting the understanding of social sustainability and diversity; to contribute to the development of quality innovative education in the partner institutions.
